Collett E. Woolman, one of the original directors, purchased the company on September 13, 1928, and renamed it Delta Air Service. Flight Attendant and Inflight Services – The responsibilities of the Flight Attendant and Inflight Services includes practicing safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures, handling emergency situations, providing exemplary customer service that exceeds customer expectations, and ensuring compliance with Federal Aviation Administration regulations.  Other duties include, but are not limited to, providing assistance to customers including lifting and stowing baggage, providing emergency medical aid, and assisting disabled passengers and/or unaccompanied minors, and actively seek to ensure the safety and comfort of the customers.

Ground Maintenance Technician – This role utilizes appropriate equipment and material to accomplish all routine and non-routine maintenance functions. Other duties include inspecting, servicing, troubleshooting, repairing, replacing, and overhauling all stationary ground support equipment and components.

Customer Experience Specialist – The Customer Experience Specialists provides outstanding customer service via telephone by creating an experience where customers know they have been heard and understood and feel valued and important.  Other responsibilities include quickly identifying and owning customer issues, making quality decisions, multi-tasking, and interacting with a globally diverse group of customers and co-workers.

What can you do for the company?  You should offer examples to explain why your education, skills, and experience will be needed aspects for the company.

Can you give an example when you have had a conflict with someone and how did you resolve the conflict?  This question is asked to determine if you will have the abilities and skills to de-escalate a situation in a professional and calm manner.

Can you talk about a time when a co-worker was being rude or dishonest and what actions you took?  The answer to this question tells the hiring manager how comfortable you are with confrontation, how much supervision you will need, and what kind of ethics you have.

Advice for Application Process

The interview process will be in three stages.  The first stage is a telephone interview.  During this stage, you will be asked basic questions that concern your previous experience, people who work for the company, and what you have to offer to the company.  If you pass the first stage, then the second stage is a video interview.

This stage tends to throw candidates off because they click the link that is sent to them and it automatically starts recording.  Generally, candidates don’t expect this so they aren’t dressed for an interview, they haven’t prepared their answers, and they are nervous.

After you have given yourself time to prepare and dress professionally, you should relax by taking some deep breaths.  Only once you are completely ready should you click the link to begin the interview.  You can expect one to three questions that will be scenario type questions.  Use your previous experience as examples to answer these questions.

If you pass the second stage, you will then be contacted to do either a group or panel interview.  This last stage digs deeper into your personality, ethics, dependability, and skills.  This is a good time to interview the recruiters by asking them about career growth, goals of the company, etc.  At each stage, it is critical that you are prepared so do your homework and research the company and position that you are applying for.  At the conclusion of each stage, show graciousness by thanking the person or people that you are speaking with for their time and consideration.
