The United Parcel Service or otherwise known as UPS started in 1907 when a man named James E. Casey borrowed $100 dollars to start a business called The American Messenger Company is Seattle, Washington. Jim, with help from his brothers and friends helped grow the business on the basis of customer courtesy.

When the company expanded past Seattle, Washington the business changed its name to the United Parcel Service, which is still used today. With this expansion the industry created something called “common carrier” service. Part time Dockworker W/CDL – This position requires that individuals more freight either by hand or by the operation of a forklift and hand truck. This also requires that individuals operate a tractor-trailer and daily pick up of freight from customers. Dockworkers with CDL licensing receive $15/hr.
